This is so freaking awesome!
Once upon a time, I believed I didn't like comics nor graphic novels. I was thinking of all those superhero comics from Marvel or DC that used to be sold with the newspaper in Sunday, maybe some humorous ones like Asterix and Obelix or Mortadelo y Filemón. Manga is not my cuppa, either. They are kind of nice and entertaining, if you ask me, but they are kind of repetitive and boring after a short while.
But then I got curious with some, and I enjoyed them.
Then I read this.
It's fun, it's ironic, it's acid, it's creative, it's shocking, it's gross, it's fucked-up, it's action-packed, it's spot-on.
It's deceptively shallow.
But in truth it's so bad-ass.
There are lots wonderful characters and little details and ideas in every damn sketch. It's full of those moments in which I wonder "How the hell did the author come up with this?".
And it's utterly romantic.
Like, one of the most romantic stories I've ever read.
Two creatures meet in the middle of a war. The "horned-ones" against the "winged-ones". Marko is a horned-one, whereas Alana is a winged-one. They fall in love, they have a kid, they have to flee in order to same themselves and little Hazel.
Little Hazel is the one who tells the story.
Will they be able to win when the whole universe is against them?
